Haven collected three points at home last time out, The Njoku Boys were looking to make it two consecutive league wins as they sought to climb up the table in Pool C.

They could have had a dream start just two minutes into the game when Treviso FC’s goalkeeper Fred Sackbang was forced into an early save from Ngemital Michael’s early effort.

The Treviso shot-stopper remained the busier of the two men between the sticks, cutting-off a threatening ball from Djike Jean Marie at the 14th minute and preventing a long range effort from Ndongo Roustang a minute later from touching the back of his net.

The breakthrough came at the 17th minute as Fako United blitzed up field using the left flank, where Mukete combined with Ngemital who squared a fine ball for the onrushing Eghem Enow who effortlessly turned the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Fako United could have doubled their advantage minutes later but Mukete, Eghem and Ngemital were all kept frustrated by some brave goalkeeping from Fred Sackbang.

Meanwhile the hosts tried to fashion a few half chances of their own on the end, with defender Njoh Ndive Motutu and goalkeeper Ngah Tsala Eloundou called in to intervene.

With two minutes remaining before the break, the Elephant Herd managed to double their lead and it was through some excellent offensive work from Ndongo, whose ball over the Treviso back line left Mukete with a lot to do, but he showed his class with a clinical finish with a low left foot drive at the edge of the box. It was the former Dragon of Yaoundé forward’s fourth league goal of the season.

Fako United FC began the second half better than they started the first, as they mounted pressure and controlled matters out in the middle.

Treviso contained the assaults with their outstanding goalkeeper, as Eghem, Mukete, Bourzina Briand and Djike Jean Marie continued to miss one guilt-edged chance after another. Goalkeeper Fred Sackbang was able to stave off a potential embarrassment for Treviso FC.

Eloundou’s relatively quiet evening was offset at the 69th minute as the dangerous Fotabong Smac was afforded space to test him with an excellent shot, forcing a spectacular save from the Elephant Herd’s goalminder who dived low to his right to keep the home side scoreless.

Treviso were given a boost to stage a comeback, when at the 72nd minute, in a last defender’s position, defender Njoh Ndive Motutu bundled second half substitute Harris Ebong to the ground. He received his matching orders with a straight red card. But the resultant free-kick was inconsequential.

Despite being a man down, the. Njoku Boys remained on the front foot and got their third from a free-kick. Ngemital Michael wrong footed the goalkeeper after a wicked deflection, with his first of the season.

Fako United continued to pile pressure and they were rewarded at the 88th minute with a fourth goal in the game. Second half substitute Kiney Protus showed some neat feat before firing past Fred Sackbang.

There was still time for a fifth as left back Bourzina Briand finally found the right shooting boots at the 90th minute after he was beautifully teed up by Roustang Ndongo at the 90th minute.

The Njoku Boys made their hosts look ordinary as they came away with a crucial three points which takes them up the table to the second spot in Pool C with seven points.
